Ferrite beads claim 'world's smallest'

To keep up with the industry’s demands for miniaturisation, Murata has introduced what are said to be the world’s smallest ferrite beads. Designed for EMI filter applications in DC power lines, these components aim to reduce board space without compromising on performance.

The latest addition to the EMIFIL family of chip ferrite beads, the BLM02 series is available in the tiny 01005 size (0,4 by 0,2 by 0,2 mm). They are capable of wide frequency range attenuation, typically 30 MHz to several hundred MHz. Impedance ranges from 10 to 120 Ω, with rated currents between 200 and 500 mA. DC resistance is below 0,8 Ω for the whole series.

The components are available with an operating temperature range of -55 to +125°C.
