Premier provider of innovative solid-state relays and switching solutions, Clare has announced the availability of the CPC1230N, claimed to be the world's smallest relay to carry BSI Supplemental Certification. The CPC1230N achieves this certification by meeting the 0,4 mm 'through insulation' distance requirement of EN60950. Conformance to this standard was verified by BSI, an independent approval agency. The CPC1230N achieves the certification in the same small package used for Clare's entire 4-pin SOP family of OptoMOS Relays. The CPC1230N is ideal for use in mother-daughter cards for laptop computers, modems, telecommunications and data communications products.
The CPC1230N allows engineers to design truly global products using a single relay solution that meets the more stringent supplemental insulation requirements of the global marketplace. In addition to requiring 20% less board space than any other relay on the market, the CPC1230N has excellent sensitivity, with typical drive current of only 2 mA. For applications such as battery operated equipment this can be a distinct advantage.
