The CC2591 from Texas Instruments is a highly integrated 2,4 GHz radio frequency (RF) front end for low-power and low-voltage wireless applications. It increases the link budget in wireless systems by integrating a power amplifier for output power of +22 dBm and a low-noise amplifier for receiver sensitivity of +6 dB.
The IC is applicable to all 2,4 GHz wireless systems, such as ZigBee networks, sensors and industrial, consumer and audio equipment. It integrates a power amplifier, low-noise amplifier, balun, switches, inductors and RF-matching network. It has a 4,8 dB LNA noise figure and operates from 2 to 3,6 V.
The device consumes 100 nA in power-down mode. Transmit current consumption is 100 mA at 3 V for 20 dBm output, while receive current consumption is 3,4 mA in high gain mode and 1,7 mA in low gain mode.
