Power supply suits lighting systems

Mean Well has launched a new constant voltage power supply optimised for LED lighting, decorative lighting and general high dust/moisture applications. With a non-PFC design and 90–132 V a.c. input range, the LPL-18 is an 18 W AC-DC switcher targeting economical lighting requirements. Fully encapsulated, its IP67 structure can protect the electronic components from dust and moisture, making them useful in harsh locations.

Using heat-conducted glue and with efficiency up to 84%, the units can operate between -25 and +70°C using free air convection alone, and has an internal shock absorber to withstand vibration. Other standard functions include short circuit, overload, over-voltage, and over-temperature protections and wire-style I/O (18 AWG) for flexible installation. Typical applications include moving signs and backlighting, LED-based decorative/architectural lighting, LED stage and theatre lighting, and LED electronic displays.
