Meissner launches diesel generators

Meissner, better known as a supplier of uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), has extended its product offering by launching a range of diesel generators and in doing so says it is able to offer its customers a complete and compatible standby power solution.
Meissner’s generator division is being managed by Dave Warren, assisted by Marcel Hanekom. Warren states that Meissner are now able to offer customers a turnkey solution coupled with Meissner’s high standard of after sales service. The Himoinsa range of generators imported from Spain incorporate Iveco, Perkins, Scania and Volvo engines with Stamford alternators, and as such are aimed at customers in professional applications. Meissner took the decision to import these generators in the face of generator shortages, as well as systems that did not match its customers’ exacting standards.
Within six weeks of introducing the product to its customers, Meissner received two orders. The first – valued at R7 million – is for the supply of 18 soundproof units to a hospital group. The second order is for an 800 kVA genset for the new extension to the Johannesburg Country Club in Woodmead.
