JDSU’s c-Series compact photonic tools are a new line of test solutions for the development and manufacturing of fibre-optic connectors and passive components used in today’s network elements. These compact tools are general-purpose, high-performance, entry-level test solutions for new engineers entering the industry and small-and medium-sized connector and patch cord manufacturers.
The testers include a USB interface, making them an ideal addition to automated fibre-optic manufacturing process tools, with light sources and power meters providing key feedback required for robotic and automated assembly equipment. Operating independently or in tandem, the units offer functionality that addresses a range of key applications from general-purpose lab-based optical measurements to insertion loss and return loss measurements for FTTx passive components and fibre-optic connectors.
