The NETcat Micro NC-100 from Greenlee is a digital voice, data and video wiring tester, a new member of its VDV tool family. The NC-100 verifies the integrity of shielded and unshielded twisted pair cables, coaxial cables and telephone wiring in a single, compact, handheld device. By using high-speed digital technology, this product can verify wiring continuity and check for the correct allocation of wire pairs.
The tester has four durable keys to select test and wire tracing modes. It detects shorts, opens, reversed polarity, crossed and split pairs and warns of hazardous voltages. It generates three distinct, selectable precision tone patterns for cable tracing and troubleshooting. A wide range of tracing tone options makes it easy to track and identify high performance Category 5, 6, or 7 wiring, and the tracing tones are compatible with Greenlee’s 200XP noise-immune tone probe.
Test results are shown on a backlit display. A nested remote allows end-to-end testing of all wiring types whether in the same room or at a far jack. A complete set of common connector types are supported and an auto-off function helps extend the 9-volt alkaline battery life.
