NVE’s ADV001-00E is a GMR (giant magneto-resistive) digital switch with a bipolar output. The sensor maintains an operate point with the application of a negative (South) magnetic field, and a release point with the application of a positive (North) magnetic field.
The magnetic operate/release points are approximately +4 Gauss for the operate point and –4 Gauss for the release point. Despite the low values, the operate points are stable over a temperature range of –40°C to +125°C. The device operates from a supply voltage range of 4,5 to 30 V and sources 0–20 mA at its output.
The device is suitable for use with magnetic encoders that have alternating North/South poles, or in any other application where one polarity of field is required to turn the part on, and the opposite polarity is required to turn it off. It is available in RoHS-compliant MSOP8 or 2,5 x 2,5 mm TDFN packages.
