The MLX90615 from Melexis is an infrared thermometer for non-contact temperature measurements.
Both the IR sensitive thermopile detector chip and the signal conditioning ASIC are integrated into the miniature TO-46 can. With its small size, it is especially suited for medical applications like ear thermometers or other applications where small size is essential.
The thermometer comes factory calibrated with a digital SMBus output giving full access to the measured temperature in the complete temperature range with a resolution of 0,02°C. The user can configure the digital output to be PWM.
The device is factory calibrated over the temperature range from -40°C to 85°C for sensor temperature and -40°C to 115°C for object temperature. It features accuracy of 0,5°C over the 0–50°C temperature range and 0,1°C accuracy over a limited temperature range.
