105 x 140 LCD module designed for TAB assembly

With the escalating trend towards advanced manufacturing technologies such as tape automated bonding (TAB) and chip on flex (COF), Impact Memec has introduced a new TAB, 105 x 140 pixel liquid crystal display module from Emerging Displays Technologies.

Constructed with film-compensated super twisted nematic (FSTN) fluid technology, the EW50073FLY display module is claimed to offer superior contrast and a thin profile in an overall module size of just (mm) 59,92W x 65H x 5,9D. The visible display area of (mm) 34,50W x 45H is transflective and incorporates an LED backlight.

Designed primarily for cost-conscious portable/Internet devices, the EW50073FLY display will also find applications in handheld devices in the industrial and medical arena.
