Piezo switches with extended temperature range

Switches, Relays & Keypads
Schurter has extended the operating temperature range for its piezo switches with a normally open switching function.
The extended temperature range of -40°C to +85°C means that the switches can now be used in outside applications where extreme temperatures and temperature fluctuations may occur.
The switches contain no moving parts, have a robust metal housing made of anodised aluminium or stainless steel and are hermetically sealed. With a lifetime of more than 20 million switching cycles, the piezo switches are resistant to dirt, sand, dust and water; they can neither freeze nor stick through contact with fluids.
The following mounting diameters are available as standard: 16, 19, 22, 24, 27 and 30 mm. Other mounting diameters, materials, colours and shapes are possible for adapting the switches to specific design requirements. Switches with mounting diameters from 22 mm upwards are offered with point or ring illumination.
For devices with night design, the illumination serves to make the actuating surface visible. The ring illumination may also be used for providing optical feedback or for displaying the switch position (ON/OFF). Laser printed lettering is selectable from a range of standard options, as well as the possibility for customer-specific lettering and symbols.
