48 V adapters suit datacoms

18 March 2009 Power Electronics / Power Management

Phihong has announced the addition of 48 V output models to its existing PSAA60W and PSAA60M single-output adapter series. The PSAA60W-480 two-wire input adapter and the PSAA60M-480 three-wire input adapter are the latest additions to series that already include 12, 15, 18, and 24 V output models. The 48 V adapters better address networking, data communications and IP applications.

The new adapters comply with the United States’ Energy Independence and Security Act of 2007 (EISA), as well as with Class B conducted and radiated electromagnetic emissions. Additionally, they bear cUL/UL, CE and CB safety markings and approvals.

The adapters operate at a minimum of 85% average output efficiency and feature no-load power consumption of less than 0,5 W. They are rated to operate between 0°C and 40°C and between 10% and 90% humidity. They also feature short-circuit and over-voltage protection with auto restart, as well as over-current protection.

PSAA60W and PSAA60M series adapters come in fully sealed, splash-proof cases that measure 13 cm in length by 6 cm in width by 3,3 cm in height. The adapters’ DC cords all terminate with a 2,1 mm by 5,5 mm centre-positive DC output connecter.
