Souriau has developed a new series of scoop proof fire wall connectors for aircraft applications such as engines, hydraulic systems and landing gear.
The connectors are resistant to high vibrations and high temperatures up to 260°C, and are fire proof as per EN 2591-318, meaning that they can survive for six minutes under a 1100°C flame without electrical perturbation or 14 minutes with no flame propagation. They can be immersed at pressures up to 2 kPa without leakage and can survive 500 hours of salt spray.
The connectors are available with an array of crimp contacts in both standard and thermocouple sizes with 12, 16 and 20 contacts. The scoop proof design allows for blind mating without risk of damaging contacts, and the connectors are rated for 500 mating/unmating cycles. Insulation resistance is 5000 M at 500 V d.c. and maximum current rating per contact ranges from 7,5 A for the 20-contact variant to 23 A for the 12-contact version.
