The vandal-proof latching action switch MSM LA from Schurter has been redesigned and is now also available with point illumination.
To indicate the switching status or to provide visibility during night-time use, point and ring illuminated versions in red, green and blue are available. Different types of contacts offer a range of permissible switching voltages up to 125 V d.c./ 250 V a.c. All options for the MSM LA are available in single-pole and double-pole versions.
The switch is available in 19 and 22 mm mounting diameters and is suitable for use in temperatures ranging from -40°C to +85°C. With an actuating travel greater than 5 mm, it is suitable for use in applications which require enhanced feedback of switching status. The standard type as well as the versions with ring illumination and now also point illumination may be provided with lettering using standard or customer-specific characters.
The switching status is easy to discern visually or by feeling the resting position of the actuator. In the OFF state, the actuator position protrudes from the housing, while in the ON state, it is depressed into the housing. This provides a user-friendly actuating function and also prevents inadvertent switching, e.g. caused by objects leaning on the switch. Due to the stainless steel housing as well as the high impact strength, the switch is particularly suited for use in equipment in harsh environments or for vandal-protected applications.
