DC-DC converter

10 June 2009 Power Electronics / Power Management

Three new series of DC-DC converters from Mornsun have been developed to cover a broad range of voltage and current requirements.

The KRB series is available in both 1 W and 2 W versions, with voltage outputs up to 24 V d.c. from an input voltage of as little as 3,6 V d.c. Selected models are offered with short circuit protection and output accuracy is within 3%. This family is offered in a 7-pin SIL package measuring 19,5 mm wide by 10 mm high.

The K78Xx-500 series feature wide inputs voltages and output voltages of 3,3, 5, 6,5, 9, 12 and 15 V d.c. at 500 mA. These SIL devices measure only 11,5 mm wide and 10,2 mm high and boast efficiencies of up to 96%. Output voltage accuracy is 1% typical and 3% maximum. Line regulation is 0,4% while load regulation is 0,6% and ripple is 35 mV peak to peak. These modules have mean time before failure of 2 million hours.

The K78Xx-1000 series feature wide input and output voltages of 3,3, 5, 6,5, 9 and 12 V d.c. at 1 A. These SIL devices measure 11,5 mm wide and 17,5 mm high and boast efficiencies of up to 96%. Output voltage accuracy is 1% typical and 3% maximum, line regulation is 0,4% while load regulation is 0,6%, and ripple is 35 mV peak to peak.
