Vishay recently added to its Little Star family a new, automotive-qualified 1 W white LED that combines high brightness with a compact package outline. The Little Star VLMW711U2U3XV offers low thermal resistance and high luminous intensity, making it suitable for a wide range of applications.
Featuring an SMD power package with a compact 6,0 mm by 6,0 mm footprint and ultra-low profile of 1,5 mm, the LED is robust and light-efficient. It is designed for a high current drive of up to 350 mA, and offers bright luminous intensity of 29 700 mcd. Typical luminous flux is 90 lm.
The new LED is optimised for general lighting, consumer and general applications with a high luminous flux requirement and as an alternative to incandescent lamps. Typical end products include street lighting, architectural lighting, general illumination, and automotive applications such as daytime running lights, interior lighting, fog lights and door-ajar warning lights.
The VLMW711U2U3XV features a 60° half-intensity angle and 120° viewing angle, and is compatible with IR-reflow solder processes. It is automotive-qualified to AEC-Q101 and complies with RoHS 2002/95/EC and WEEE 2002/96/EC. Preconditioned according to JEDEC moisture sensitivity Level 2a standards, the Little Star package is lead-free and RoHS-compliant.
