Emergency lighting luminaires

Legrand has extended its portfolio of commercial electrical products to include new self-contained emergency lighting luminaires that meet stringent quality and safety specifications.
There are three types of emergency lighting luminaires in this range – non-maintained, maintained and combined units. The emergency lamp of non-maintained 8 W or 11 W luminaires operates only in the event of a normal lighting mains failure. In maintained luminaires, the emergency lamp, which is energised on both mains and emergency battery, operates at all times. A remote unit allows the lamps to be switched into rest mode when the building is unoccupied for long periods. This reduces the amount of time the units are powered up. The average use of the batteries is 35 000 hours. This means that these luminaires can be used either 24 hours a day for four years, or 12 hours per day for eight years, if set into the rest mode every day.
In combined 8 W luminaires, there is a combination of a minimum of two lamps. One is energised from normal lighting mains and the other from the emergency lighting battery. Maintained tubes can be switched on and off with an external switch. Accessories include a double sided diffuser and flush mounting frames to install the luminaire in a wall or false ceiling.
