The BTS 452T/R (200 mΩ) and BTS 462T (100 mΩ) are protected high-side switches in Infineon’s MiniPROFET line.
While most MiniPROFET products come in low-power DSO-8 or SOT-223 packages, the BTS 452T/R and BTS 462T are packaged in a DPAK for greater thermal capability, keeping the PCB cooler in the case of thermal toggling or soft shorts. The DPAK also provides better cooling than over-moulded packages like the DSO-8 or SOT 223.
In addition to extensive protective features, the BTS 452, BTS 462 and BTS 428L2 also have a common pinout and footprint to enable scalable solutions. The BTS 452R includes a diagnostic feature, while both the BTS 452 and BTS 462 support an extended operational voltage range for 24 V or high-current applications. These products are fully qualified according to stringent AEC-Q100 standards.
The devices include protection against short circuits, overload, over-temperature, loss of Vbb and GND, overvoltage and reverse battery polarity. They are suitable for applications with all types of resistive (eg, 5–10 W bulbs), inductive (eg, relays) and capacitive loads, where they serve as replacements for electromechanical relays, fuses and discrete circuits.
