The PD-Series SmartGuard circuit breaker from Carling Technologies is an equipment ground fault protection device that functions as a standard high-quality hydraulic/magnetic circuit breaker, offering customised overload and short circuit protection.
As an additional feature, the breaker senses and guards against faults to ground using an integrated circuit developed by the manufacturer. This technology detects faults and when a fault occurs, the breaker trips and an LED illuminates, giving a clear indication that the trip occurred as a result of leakage. This protection helps prevent serious equipment damage and fire.
The PD-Series circuit breakers come in 1 to 3 poles with switched or unswitched neutral options. They have a short circuit interrupt capacity up to 5000 amps, current ratings up to 50 amps, voltage ratings up to 480 V a.c., and equipment leakage sensitivity from 7 to 100 milliamps. They offer front panel or DIN rail mounting options, and are available with handle style actuators with an optional handle guard.
