Philips Semiconductors' new PCF8813 is said to be the world's first programmable monochrome graphic display driver.
The PCF8813 uses the company's patented one time programmable technology (OTP) to produce the sharp, clear LCD display.
OTP technology enhances the electrical performance of the PCF8813 67+1 x 102 pixels matrix LCD driver and enables module makers to optimise their display modules. OTP calibration also enables manufacturers to precisely match the liquid crystal display characteristics to the driver parameters to produce a sharp, clear display. This calibration also eliminates the need for manual contrast adjustment of display modules.
