Two-channel audio analyser

Agilent has introduced a single-unit solution – the U8903A audio analyser – that helps users quantify characteristics that affect sound quality in audio devices. The U8903A is also the next-generation replacement for the widely used legacy 8903B audio analyser.

The scalable, two-channel analyser includes versatile measurement functions, diverse test signals, powerful analysis capabilities and industry-standard connectors (balanced and unbalanced). At DC and from 10 Hz to 100 kHz, it helps engineers and technicians measure audio performance in applications such as wireless audio, analog components and ICs, and consumer audio.

Compared to the 8903B, the U8903A offers wider frequency coverage, expanded performance and greater functionality. The new model also includes a graphical user interface (5,7 inch colour display) and one-button selection of major operating modes. For automated applications, an application note describes compatible equivalent commands and provides sample test programs comparing the old R2D2 codes with new U8903A SCPI commands.
