The E280A and E280AV modules from Citel are designed to protect the power supplies or remote power supplies of equipment that is sensitive or might be disrupted by transient overvoltages.

E280A modules use a combination of three-element gas discharge tubes and suitable clamping diodes to provide a high discharge current capacity (repeated 5 kA without destruction) and a very fast response time (1 ns) but the nominal line current must not exceed 0,5 A.

The E280AV series uses varistors (response time <25 ns, discharge current capacity 4,5 kA) and is intended for power lines up to 10 A.

Both products are compatible with all supports of the E280 line and have optimised modularity and maintenance. They are suitable for power supplies from 6 V d.c. to 220 V a.c.
