Low-maintenance X-ray tube technology
5 August 2009
Manufacturing / Production Technology, Hardware & Services
The NT X-ray tube is the latest development in Dage’s sealed-transmissive X-ray tube technology and provides sub-micron feature recognition with the added benefit of a sealed tube for minimal maintenance. An advantage of the NT tube is that it does not require a vacuum-pumping system, which reduces operating costs. Maintenance costs are also reduced since the NT tube never requires filament replacement.
The NT tube is available in several of Dage’s digital X-ray inspection systems including the XD7500NT, XD7600NT and XD7600NT100 which combine the digital acquisition technology of the Dage XiDAT 2.0 imaging system with the easy to use ImageWizard software for enhanced inspection quality. Optionally, the XD7600NT and XD7600NT100 can be equipped with computerised tomography (CT) providing 3D modelling and volumetric measurement of solder joints, ideally suited for analytical analysis of solder interconnections for critical applications such as stacked die, MEMS, package-in-package and package-on-package.
