ZnO varistor range

Circuit & System Protection
A metal oxide varistor is a voltage dependent, symmetrical, nonlinear resistor whose resistance decreases with the increase in voltage. Varistor resistance is a nonlinear inverse function of the applied voltage. At a rated voltage its resistance is high but when a higher voltage transient across the varistor appears, its resistance sharply decreases to a low value. The transient voltage is clamped to a safe level and the energy is dissipated in the varistor, thus protecting sensitive electronic components against voltage pulses from various sources.
Iskra Varistor is a manufacturing company producing a wide range of ZnO varistors that comply with IEC and VDE standards. Iskra's varistor manufacturing programme includes the production of disk varistors with radial terminals (low, medium and high voltages) and high-energy varistors. The company holds UL, CSA and ISO 9003 Quality Certificates.
Although it offers a full range of low, medium and high voltage varistors, the company's main focus is on the high-energy field. The company says the advantages are: flexibility; products designed according to the customers' specific requests and requirements; short lead times, and competitive prices.
