Thermally efficient power brick array

Vicor has announced the introduction of the new VI Brick BCM Array, a high-efficiency (typically 95%), high-power (up to 650 W), vertically mounted BCM array that provides isolation and conversion from 380 V to 12 or 48 V for low voltage distribution near the point of load (POL). It incorporates Vicor’s V·I Chip technology in a robust package that facilitates thermal management.

The solution combines a high-voltage bus converter with an integrated heatsink to simplify thermal management and minimise board space. It is ideally suited for PFC front-end applications, providing the capability of a high voltage bus with minimal distribution losses. This is a highly efficient solution for applications using POL and is available with 384 V and 352 V nominal input voltages, and output voltages of 11, 12, 44 and 48 V d.c.
