icoM's new video capable IC-R3 handheld receiver combines a 5 cm TFT colour display along with a wideband receiver to bring a visual element to what has traditionally been audio. The IC-R3 not only covers the commercial broadcast channels, 2-69, and amateur radio ATV frequencies in the 430, 1200 and 2400 MHz bands, it is also a free tuning AM TV receiver from 25 500 to 2400 MHz, along with FM TV capability from 900-1300 and 2250-2450 MHz. It can also display broadcast visual information pictures from wireless cameras etc. It has a band scope that allows one to analyse activity within a specified band, adjustable to 500 kHz wide.
