DEHN’s Red/Line multipole DEHNventil M combined lightning current/surge arresters are designed for protecting low voltage installations and terminal devices against surges, even during direct lightning strikes. The all-in-one Type 1 modules are pre-wired and consist of a base part and plug-in protection module.
The DEHNventil M units are exchanged by simply pressing the module release button, and the user can see the operating state/fault indication by a mark in the inspection window. They also offer monitoring of the neutral module, which is a requirement for maintenance purposes. System availability is provided by the RADAX Flow follow-on current limitation. The devices have a discharge capacity up to 100 kA (10/350 µs) and there is no tripping of 32 A gL/gG fuses up to short-circuit currents of 50 kARMS.
By using encapsulated creepage discharge spark gaps, combined with a compact design, DEHNventil M units are well suited for use in switchgear installations and distribution boards. The surge arresters can be connected in series up to nominal currents of 125 A as per IEC 60364-5-53.
Various modules are available for TN-C, TN-S, TT and TN-S systems, as well as single-phase TN, TT and TN systems. DEHNventil M–FM modules have a three-pole terminal for remote signalling. With their floating changeover contact, the remote signal can be used as a break or make contact according to circuit concept.
