Illuminated rotary encoders

11 November 2009 Electronics Technology

The MERP12 range of rotary encoders from knitter-switch are designed to be used as input devices for scroll menus, as well as to replace traditional rotary potentiometers in a wide range of applications. The encoders target designers working on next generation building automation systems and test and measurement instruments where the latest type of input device for scroll menus is required.

MERP 12 encoders feature an LED illuminated actuator which can be single- or multicoloured and can be specified with or without a pushbutton action.

The encoders have a typical lifetime of 30 000 operations and an operating temperature range of –40°C to +85°C.
