In an effort to help designers bring 32-bit realtime control to cost sensitive applications, Texas Instruments has announced two new USB-based tools for Piccolo 32-bit TMS320F2802x microcontrollers (MCUs).
The new evaluation and development tools make it easier for designers to evaluate Piccolo MCUs and develop energy-efficient, realtime control applications such as solar power micro-inverters, LED lighting, white goods appliances, power line communications and hybrid automotive batteries.
The Piccolo controlSTICK is housed in a small, USB stick form factor and features onboard USB JTAG for quick, easy project evaluation. It provides access to all control peripherals through header pins and comes with a 32 KB limited Code Composer Studio IDE and example projects. The Piccolo USB Experimenter’s Kit is aimed at prototyping use and includes onboard USB JTAG emulation with connection for external emulator and power supply, as well as the 32 KB limited Code Composer Studio.
