High-voltage power resistors

17 February 2010 Passive Components

The SSP and OSP series from EBG Resistors are a range of power and high-voltage resistors designed to meet the requirements of power ratings up to 40 W while at the same time offering voltage ratings up to 6000 V. The film resistors with axial lead construction cover a resistance range from 0,1 Ω to 30 MΩ with standard tolerances between ±1% and ±10%. They operate up to 275°C with a low temperature coefficient of 50 ppm/°C.

These resistor series employ a special variation of EBG’s METOXFILM formulations to achieve high stability, high value, high voltage and high power. These films are annealed on special ceramic bodies at temperatures above 00°C and become an inherent part of the surface of the ceramic, resulting in their extended performance characteristics. As a result of EBG’s patented non-inductive process, these resistors are well suited for high-frequency applications, and result in less ‘ringing’ with minimum distortion of signals and fast settling times.
