California Micro Devices has débuted the CM1242-33CP, a single-channel 30 kV ESD protection device for high-density product applications such as SIM cards and I/O ports on multimedia devices.
The device is packaged in a unit size comparable to the industry standard 0201 package with dimensions of 0,6 x 0,3 mm. A feature of CMD’s packaging for this device is the bottom side landing pads, which provide a reduced footprint for attachment.
The CM1242-33CP offers a single bidirectional channel of ESD protection and protects against ESD strikes of up to ±30 kV contact discharge. With a typical clamping voltage of ±8,6 V along and a low dynamic resistance, this is a highly responsive ESD protection solution when compared with other devices exhibiting higher dynamic resistance characteristics.
