Aqueous cleans up on industry awards
17 March 2010
News
Aqueous Technologies is heading for a new industry record with the winning of 32 prestigious awards across its portfolio of defluxing and stencil cleaning systems and cleanliness testers.
These awards have been achieved around the globe and include accolades from Global SMT & Packaging Magazine’s ‘Global Technology’ Awards, North America’s Circuits Assembly ‘New Product Introduction’ Awards, SMT magazine’s ‘VISION’ Awards, plus Advanced Packaging Awards together with Asia’s EM Asia ‘Innovation’ Awards. The most recent award, a Global Technology Award, was presented at Productronica. Here the industry congratulated Aqueous Technologies in the category of ‘cleaning equipment’ for their Zero-Ion GIII Ionic contamination tester for the testing of both populated and bare printed circuit boards.
The Zero-Ion ionic contamination tester is a resistivity of solvent extract (ROSE) tester and the Zero-Ion G3 is the newest, most advanced system. Unlike other systems which require heated test solution, the Zero-Ion performs all tests at ambient temperature, eliminating the need for heaters and their associated safety concerns. Ambient temperature testing also reduces machine startup times and test solution evaporation.
Awards were also won following the launch of the Trident automatic defluxing system. Reportedly the fastest batch-format defluxing system on the market, the system is capable of defluxing and cleanliness testing up to two hundred 101 x 152 mm boards and up to twenty-eight 457 x 508 mm boards per hour.
Michael Konrad, Aqueous Technologies’ president and CEO, said: “We are extremely proud that our efforts in continued research and development in our field have been rewarded in this manner. Especially as it seems we are on track to potentially scoop the largest number of awards received from our industry. It certainly spurs us on to continue the work our incredible team is undertaking.”
