The new miniature SMD converters in Recom’s RSx/R2x series offer 1 and 2 Watts power rating, respectively, and are RoHS6/6 compliant to be absolutely lead free. They can operate at ambient temperatures up to 100°C with convection cooling and without derating, are EN60601 and UL60950 certified and pin compatible with industry standard converters. Their ‘enclosed open frame’ design is laid out for fully automatic manufacturing processes and is compatible with vapour soldering processes at temperatures up to 245°C. The new converters are optionally insulated to 3 kV d.c. and have rated voltages between 3,3 and 24 V. Converters with dual outputs are rated up to 48 V. Their low weight of only 1 gram makes them highly resistant to shock and vibration. The components’ layout guarantees low EMC-Radiation, and they meet EN5502 Class A without external components.
