Texas Instruments recently introduced a 3,2 W, mono Class D audio amplifier IC with an integrated digital-to-analog converter (DAC) noise filter that is said to reduce codec noise by as much as 82%, compared to devices without this feature. This integrated noise filter can eliminate the need for an external filter on the inputs, reducing component count and cost.
The TPA2011D1’s1,2 x 1,2 mm package size on 0,4 mm pitch makes it well suited to space constrained and portable applications. It delivers 3,2 W into 4 Ω at 5 V, producing loud audio with no audible ‘pop’. An integrated image reject filter provides a low-pass cutoff frequency of 130 kHz. Quiescent current is a low 1,5 mA.
