Microprocessor supervisor IC

14 April 2010 Analogue, Mixed Signal, LSI

Monolithic Power Systems’ MP6401 is a microprocessor supervisor IC combining a low-dropout (LDO) linear regulator with an integrated reset circuit. It operates from a 2,5 V to 5,5 V input voltage and regulates the output voltage with 2% accuracy at 1,8 V, 2,5 V, 3,3 V or an adjustable value from 1,229 V to 5 V. The device delivers up to 300 mA load current and consumes a quiescent current of 80 μA.

The MP6401 provides a push-pull, active-low output that asserts when the regulator output voltage drops below the microprocessor supply threshold (-7,5% or -12,5% of nominal output voltage). Four reset delay times – 3,125 ms, 25 ms, 200 ms and 1580 ms – can be selected. The IC is available in 3 x 3 mm TQFN8, 2 x 2 mm TQFN6 and TSOT packages and is specified for operation from -40°C to 85°C. Protection features include reverse current, thermal and short circuit.
