Low-noise power supply

28 April 2010 Power Electronics / Power Management

Abracon’s ABPSM-ULN-A solution provides an ultra low-noise power supply source (25 nV/Hz at 1 kHz), with four regulated DC outputs. Offering 1,8 V, 2,5 V, 3,3 V and 5,0 V DC bias ports, this module is designed to replace multiple low-noise, linear power supplies which are typically needed to bias noise-sensitive circuitry.

The power supply is designed to utilise a universal low-noise AC adapter, enabling worldwide functionality by accepting 100 V a.c. to 240 V a.c. at 50 Hz or 60 Hz. Coupled with its low-noise regulation, this module provides a suitable setup to conduct noise sensitive measurements of system-critical circuitry, such as phase noise, jitter, spectral purity and signal to noise ratio. It can source up to 120 mA on each port.
