AC/DC modules with reduced standby power

12 May 2010 Power Electronics / Power Management

MTM has developed a series of primary switchers with low power consumption in unswitched mode, exhibiting standby power consumption below 1 W, typically around 300 mW.

The AC/DC power module series PMAS10 is designed as universal compact power supplies with AC and DC wide input ranges and single output power of 5, 12, 15 and 24 V for worldwide application. Dimensions of 52,0 x 36,5 x 24,0 mm and high packing density allow an efficient, cost-saving 10 W solution for different tasks where low power is needed.

The power supplies are prepared for applications in Class 1 and/or 2 and boast efficiency of ±80%. The vacuum encapsulated modules are characterised by a compact design due to their mechanically and electrically rugged construction and are designed for PCB mounting. The cornerstones of the high quality standards of the series are SMD technology, automatic 100% final test and 100% burn-in test. The AC/DC modules comply with the Low Voltage Directive as well as the up-to-date standards as regards CE conformity and are CB-Scheme, VDE and UL/cUL approved. Besides the 10 W version, the series includes modules with an output power of 5 to 100 W for PCB mounting (PMAS) and chassis mounting (PCMAS).
