Avago Technologies has developed a series of bright surface mount light emitting diodes (LEDs) for use in interior automotive and industrial applications. The ASMT-TxBM series, which features viewing angles from 110 to 120° and high reliability, are suitable for backlighting automotive instrument cluster panels, puddle lighting, centre consoles, navigation and audio systems. They can also be used to provide backlighting for buttons, switches and ambient light illumination in industrial applications.

The LEDs are available in a 1 x 2 x 1,3 mm PLCC-2 package in cool white, blue and green versions. They can be supplied in 8 mm carrier tape on 7-inch reel.
