The product portfolio of Phoenix Contact includes five small controllers with a high communication capability for customers looking to introduce automation into their system landscape. The matching development environment, the PC Worx Express software, is available for this 100-type performance class at no cost. All of the devices have an integrated Web as well as FTP server and support numerous communication protocols. The application possibilities for these small PLCs are extensive as the I/O modules of the inline automation system can be directly lined up next to one another. They are especially suitable for use in small- and medium-sized machines and plants or for telecontrol applications and SQL connections.
The ILC 130 ETH is the smallest member of this family of controllers. Offering 192 KB program and data memory, it complements the portfolio with a low-priced unit for lower-scale applications. The ILC 150 ETH controller, the standard PLC, offers extended functionality. Using an integrated modem, the ILC 150 GSM/GPRS version can also communicate with distributed plant and system components. The ILC 170 ETH 2TX controller is the most powerful member of this family of small PLCs and is intended for use in more complex applications. What sets this controller apart are its 512 KB program and data memory and two Ethernet ports. What is more, the pluggable SD memory card provides more space to accommodate larger data volumes.
