After launching the CEN-100 (96 W) series of economical LED power supplies, Mean Well has now introduced lower wattage metal case models featuring an active PFC function and waterproof/dustproof capability.
The new CEN-60 (60 W) and CEN-75 (75 W) series meet IP66 requirement and save the cost of expensive heat-conducting glue. The upper covers of the units have two small holes with waterproof structure where users can adjust the output current (75-100%) or voltage (±10%) without removing the cover.
With high-frequency switching technology, the CEN-60/75 series possess up to 91% efficiency, allowing them to be cooled by free air convection from -30°C to +70°C ambient temperature. In order to accommodate harsh outdoor environments, the power supplies feature a full aluminium case, stainless steel screws and waterproof cables. With 90–295 V a.c. input range, the CEN-60/75 series’ PFC function allows them to meet the norms of harmonic current per EN61000-3-2 Class C, and also meet the requirement of PF>0,9 if loading over 75% (CEN-60) or 70% (CEN-75).
These power units feature 4 kV surge immunity (EN61000-4-5) which complies with the requirements of street lighting applications. Other standard functions include constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CV) operation mode, short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature protections. Typical applications include LED street lighting, LED display and general indoor/ outdoor LED-based lighting applications.
