Mean Well has expanded its range of slim AC/DC DIN rail power supplies with the introduction of the new WDR-480 series. Featuring integrated power factor correction, the single-phase, 480 W power units meet the harmonic current limitation per EN61000-3-2. Equipped with a 180 to 550 V a.c. input range, they can be used in general power systems with single-phase 230 V a.c. input or can capture one phase from the 330–550 V a.c. three-phase power system.
Employing LLC and synchronous rectification technology, the WDR-480 series boasts up to 93% efficiency and can provide 480 W continuously in temperatures as high as 50°C using only free air convection, or it can operate at 70°C provided that power derating is observed.
Other standard functions include DC OK relay contact alarm signal output, front panel DC voltage adjustment , as well as protection for short-circuit, overload (constant current mode, shut down if over 3 seconds), over-voltage and over-temperature. The WDR-480 series complies with UL508, IEC60950-1 (CB) and CE certificates, and also meets the EMC requirements of heavy industrial immunity level (EN61000-6-2). Suitable applications include industrial control systems, semiconductor fabrication equipment, factory automation, electro-mechanical applications and marine related installation.
