High-speed contact strips

Samtec recently introduced its versatile new Razor Beam 0,8 mm pitch high-speed/high-density hermaphroditic strip (LSEM series) available in right angle and vertical orientations for parallel, perpendicular and coplanar applications. Samtec’s family of Razor Beam interfaces are designed to save PCB real estate on the X, Y and Z axis with ultra-fine pitch, slim row-to-row, low-profile designs.

The system’s blade-and-beam style contacts are designed for high speed, but are also suitable for rugged applications with undercut retention notches that increase withdrawal force and produce an audible click when the contacts engage. In addition, the self-mating design can help reduce inventory costs. These new 0,8 mm strips are available in right angle or vertical orientations, with 20 to 50 contacts per row and a choice of lead styles. They offer mated height variety and flexibility with a range of heights from 6 mm to 12 mm. This new system is also RoHS compliant and lead-free solderable.

In addition to the LSEM series 0,8 mm pitch strip, the Razor Beam family also includes high performance hermaphroditic interfaces in 0,635 mm pitch (LSS series) and 0,5 mm pitch (LSHM series) designs for parallel, perpendicular and coplanar applications. The LSHM Series also features optional shielding for EMI protection.
