AVX has developed a 0,5 mm pitch, low-insertion-force (LIF) FFC/FPC connector series for price-sensitive applications. The low-profile 6284 series connectors feature a staggered dual-contact arrangement that makes positioning and insertion of the FFC/FPC cable easier.
In addition, this design enhances mating security by increasing the separation force.
With a low profile of 1,5 mm, the connectors are available from eight to 60 positions and can be customised to meet application requirements. The operating temperature ranges from -40°C to +85°C, and can be extended to +105°C to meet requirements for use in automotive applications. The 6284 series is suitable for white and brown goods, including audio/video/recording devices, set-top boxes and satellite receivers. The simplicity of mating is also well suited for medical applications and industrial test and measurement equipment.
