The MPPT series of solar charge controllers includes the MPPT08A, MPPT10A, MPPT20A, MPPT40A and MPPT60A, with an input voltage range of up to 50 Voc for 8 and 10 Amp units, and up to 150 Voc for the 20, 40 and 60 Amp units.
The devices utilise PWM and integrated technology to provide greater than 96% efficiency from solar panels. The actual charge current increase one can expect varies primarily with module temperature and battery voltage. In comfortable temperatures, current increase typically varies between 10 to 25%, with 30% or more achieved with a discharged battery and cooler temperatures. The ability to step down a high-voltage solar array to a low-voltage battery can reduce costs by reducing the size of the wire required and making the installation simpler and faster.
