Euroquartz has announced the release of a new range of voltage controlled crystal oscillators (VCXOs) in miniature surface mount packages.
The new G534 VCXOs are housed in 5 x 3,2 x 1,2 mm SMD packages and are available in the frequency range 625 kHz to 50 MHz. The small package size makes these oscillators suitable for use in a wide range of applications including phase-locked loop, SONET/ATM, set-top boxes, MPEG, audio/video modulation, video game consoles and HDTV.
Operating from supply voltages of 3,3 or 5 V d.c., typical phase jitter for G series VCXOs is less than 1 ps. Output logic is HCMOS/TTL and G series VCXOs use fundamental mode crystal oscillators. Typical specifications include pull range from ±30 to ±100 ppm, temperature stability of ±25, ±50 or ±100 ppm over two temperature ranges: 0°C to 70°C and -40°C to +85°C, output load of 15 pF (CMOS) or 2 gates (TTL), start up time of 5 ms (10 ms maximum) and current consumption of 10 to 45 mA, frequency dependent. Linearity is 10% maximum, 6% typical while ageing is ±5 ppm per year maximum.
Fully RoHS-compliant, the new G series VCXOs are supplied on standard EIA tape and reel and are capable of withstanding reflow soldering conditions of 260°C for 10 seconds maximum (twice) or 230°C for 180 seconds once.
