Anritsu recently introduced its new Network Master MT9090A micro-OTDR, a tool for the installation and maintenance of optical networks.
The instrument features 5 cm resolution for accurate mapping of events, dead zones of less than 1 metre and dynamic range up to 35 dB to ensure accurate and complete fibre evaluation of any network type – premise to access, metro to core – including PON-based FTTX networks featuring up to a 1x64 split. Metro links can be tested with low pulse widths and high resolution while long-haul fibres up to 175 km can also be completely evaluated.
With dimensions of just 19 x 9,6 x 4,8 cm and a weight of only 700 g, the MT9090A is easily portable and can be managed with one hand. A full AUTO mode simplifies operation and ensures proper setup. 1625 nm and 1650 nm models are available for in-service maintenance and troubleshooting.
