Vishay has released two new high-speed analog optocouplers in the SOP-5 package, saving up to 75% in PCB space compared to a DIP-8 SMD package. The VOM452T and VOM453T feature a baud rate of 1 MBd in a low-profile package with a height of 2 mm. They also feature a very short propagation delay of 1 μs which is critical for applications requiring faster switching times than standard phototransistor optocouplers. The parts are designed for signal isolation in communication bus lines, and are capable of providing 3750 VRMS of voltage isolation. The VOM452T is rated for 1 kV/μs common mode noise immunity while the VOM453T is rated for 15 kV/μs.
