Samtec’s new AcceleRate cable system is a cost-efficient, high-performance micro coax solution for high-speed Applications.
The system’s compact design, high rate of data transfer, and rugged features make it particularly well suited to applications which require a space-saving, flexible solution for quick handling of large amounts of data.
AcceleRate cable assemblies (FCC8 series) feature 36 AWG micro coax cable and are available in lengths up to 1 metre. The 50 Ω cable boasts a 25 mm bend radius and a flex life of up to 10 000 cycles. In addition, a patent-pending direct-to-lead termination technology further optimises signal integrity by eliminating the traditional requirement for a transition board. The FCC8 series performs from 1,79 GHz (1 metre) to 4,72 GHz (15 cm) at a 7 dB insertion loss.
AcceleRate is RoHS compliant and is available with a standard choice of 10, 20, or 30 signal contacts on 0,8 mm pitch with the outside contacts grounded to its outer body shielding. A rugged latching system, metal shielding for EMI protection, and weld tabs on the mating receptacle (FCS8 series) make the system suited for rugged applications. Application-specific sizes, terminations and wire gauges are also available.
