With the introduction of its new USP-150 series, Mean Well offers a 150 W-500 W product line of U-bracket type AC/DC power supplies with power factor correction (PFC) function.
With a 33 mm profile and up to 93% efficiency, the new 150 W power supplies are ideal for fanless usage or 1U installations.
With high-frequency switching technology, the USP-150 can be cooled by free air convection from -30°C to +55°C ambient temperature. By adding a heatsink (300 x 500 x 2 mm) at the bottom of the power unit, higher temperature operation of +65°C can be obtained, which complies with the requirements of industrial applications. The new series has a 90–295 V a.c. input range, which can prevent damage caused by surge voltages from AC mains.
Built-in active power factor correction (PFC) function means that the units can meet the harmonic current limitation per EN61000-3-2. Other standard functions/features include ±10% output voltage adjustment, CE compliant (EMC: EN55022/EN55024), short circuit, overload, over-voltage and over-temperature protections. Suitable applications include automation, industrial equipment, electromechanical industry and telecommunication.
