Mean Well has launched a 100 W AC/DC, constant-voltage mode switching power supply targeting economical lighting solutions to accommodate the boom of LED architectural lighting, decorative lighting and indoor/outdoor waterproof applications. With a non-PFC design for lower cost, LPV-100 series units are fully potted by glue (to IP67) and enclosed in a plastic case with 94V-0 fire prevention level, which can protect the electronic components against dust and moisture for use in harsh locations.
The power supplies possess up to 88% efficiency and can work between -25°C and +70°C using only free air convection. Built-in standard functions include 300 V a.c. input surge endurance for five seconds, two wires input (no FG), CE compliance, and protection for short circuit, overload and over-voltage. These new models are equipped with wire-style input/output (#18 AWGx2C and #14AWGx2C) for flexible installations and are suitable for LED electronic displays, LED-based decorative/architectural lighting, LED wash-wall lighting, LED stage and theatre lighting etc.
